West Coast ruckman Dean Cox remains in serious doubt for Saturday's clash with premier Hawthorn, opening the door for forgotten big man Mark Seaby to return to the side.
Cox has been struggling with a groin injury over the last fortnight and Worsfold conceded he's only a '50-50' chance at best.
"He's (Cox) not bad, but it's certainly something that we're monitoring how he's feeling and how much we can push him up and test him out for this week," Worsfold said on Tuesday.
"It's hard to put percentages on it but we're still hopeful that he'll come up but it's probably 50-50 I'd say, we think he may (play) but we couldn't be sure about that."
"We'll certainly have a good look at how to set the ruck up and Seaby comes into strong contention."
Four-time All-Australian Cox has played every match this season and has been averaging 27 hitouts per match, despite nagging criticism suggesting he doesn't impose himself on contests and hurt opposition teams on the scoreboard.
Cox and Quinten Lynch have carried the club's ruck duties for most of the season, meaning Seaby has been relegated to the WAFL having played just three senior matches this year.
Worsfold conceded the 25-year-old, who considered being traded at the end of last season for better opportunities, was in a difficult position playing between Cox and exciting young ruck prospect Nic Naitanui, who debuted last round.
"There's a definite role for him at this club," Worsfold maintained.
"He's a wonderfully respected player and a premiership player."
"I would love to still have Seabs on our list next year (and although) I can't answer what Seabs is thinking, suffice to say, my gut feel would say he wants to play AFL."
"He's still only very young in terms of ruckmen and I think he could ruck at AFL level for another 10 years and offer us a huge amount."
"(But) he's at a club at the moment with the guy whose been the All Australian ruckman for the last four years ... and we've got a young, up-and-coming potential great ruckman."
"So that's just the hand that Mark's been dealt, he's at a club that currently has those players but that's no different to a lot of players throughout the history of the game."
But even if Cox was unable to play, Worsfold hinted at using a combination of second-gamer Naitanui and Lynch as his ruck division come Saturday.
"He (Naitanui) has done a fair bit of ruck work for Swan Districts so he could certainly cope with the field work," Worsfold said.
Adam Hunter (shoulder) seems unlikely to return to the side this week while Andrew Embley (ankle) and youngster Tom Swift (leg) will have to pass fitness tests later this week.
