Port Adelaide is confident its underdone side is fit, in form and capable of matching it with Adelaide in Showdown XXVII at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
On paper, the Power is set to field one of its strongest line-ups for the season but several of its players enter the clash with limited game time.
Vice-captain Shaun Burgoyne hasn't played since Round 3, first-year player Hamish Hartlett has been on the sidelines for several weeks with a hamstring complaint while Travis Boak and Chad Cornes are still trying to recapture their best form after being back in the side for one and two weeks respectively.
Burgoyne's touch and fitness is of greatest concern but assistant coach Jason Cripps was optimistic he could have an impact.
"We are guided by the medical staff and the fitness staff and he's done three or four weeks of really solid training, game-based training which gives us an indication he's recovered from his injury," he said.
"All I know is he won't play 100 per cent, he'll probably play like most of the guys these days anywhere from 75 per cent to probably 90 per cent."
"It just depends on what's happening in the game and what the scoreboard is saying to us."
Cripps said Boak and Cornes should improve the longer they are back in the side.
"It's Travis Boak's second game back. He's a naturally fit guy and probably last week he didn't have the touch he would've like but we are expecting his second game back his touch to be a little bit better," he said.
"Chad Cornes's third game back - last week he played down back and I think he had 27 touches."
"We are pretty confident the guys we've got out there are going to be close enough to fitness, no one is 100 per cent fit at this time of the year, but we wouldn't be playing them if it was a too big a risk."
Meanwhile Port believes Adelaide has improved dramatically since the teams last met in Round 6. Cripps said the Power had taken note of the Crows' high inside 50 count and revitalised forward line which now boasts Kurt Tippett, Brett Burton and Chris Knights - three players which weren't in attack in Showdown XXVI.
"If you look at the seven games they've won they are second in the competition (for inside 50s), so their ability to move the ball a little bit quicker and as I said earlier their numbers from the stoppage, their ability to score has been significant," Cripps said.
"Knights didn’t play a lot early in the year and obviously Tippett has spent a lot more time forward. They've shown Dangerfield can go forward, Porplyzia has been very consistent, they've got a lot of talented guys in their front half now and obviously you can't forget (Taylor) Walker."
