Carlton coach Brett Ratten has forecast several changes this week after the Blues were hammered by 54 points by Collingwood at the MCG on Friday night.
The Blues managed just four goals and were guilty of regularly turning the ball over because of sloppy foot and hand skills.
Leading possession winners - Heath Scotland (32), Bryce Gibbs (30) and Marc Murphy (29) - were below 50 percent in their kicking efficiency, a figure well down on the competition average.
The Blues expect to lose Chris Johnson (hamstring) for at least a couple of weeks but Ratten has flagged more changes for Friday night's clash against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
"Chris is (out). There will be a few others that miss maybe, but not through injury though," he said.
The Blues now face a nervous final month of the home-and-away season.
They have just nine wins and need at least three more in their final five matches to feature in September for the first time since 2001.
While the Blues have made no secret of their desire to again reach the finals, Ratten said the immediate focus was on the Kangaroos.
"Our ambition as a team has never wavered but we said early in the week and previous weeks, let's just concentrate on our opposition week by week," he said.
"It's an old footy cliché but for us it's really important. We are not looking at finals at all. We are looking at the Kangaroos next week."
"That was a poor performance. We need to rebound and we need to do it quickly."
The Blues were shocked to kick just four goals despite having 56 inside 50s and 20 scoring shots.
Magpies skipper Nick Maxwell also caused trouble as a loose man, ensuring there was little space for marking forwards Brendan Fevola and Matthew Kreuzer to work in.
Ratten said there were contributing factors to the defeat.
"I would say our usage and Collingwood pushing numbers back, and the ruckman getting back, and the way they did it, they did it extremely well," he said.
"We got beaten in the stoppages early, we just had this little window here where we were just grinding away but we couldn't get any reward."
Ratten said skipper Chris Judd, held to just 20 possessions, and Fevola would be fit to play next week despite appearing to be troubled by ankle injuries.
