Benbaun ready for Target, Magnus

English trainer Mark Wallace will run Benbaun, runner-up to Takeover Target in the 2006 King's Stand Stakes, in this year's Group One sprint at Ascot next Tuesday.

Benbaun could also back up in the Golden Jubilee Stakes four days later, trainer Peter Wallace said.

"He could well run in both, but it depends how he is," Wallace said.

Benbaun's recent form includes a Group One win in the Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp and a fifth in the Prix du Gros-Chene at Chantilly.

"It was a good run at Chantilly but he came back with a slightly sore foot, so we kept an eye on him and he seems fine now. That run should have put him spot-on for Ascot," Wallace said.

Benbaun is third favourite for the King's Stand Stakes behind Fleeting Spirit and Takeover Target.

Meanwhile, Golden Jubilee Stakes favourite Sakhee's Secret has come through a serious workout with flying colours ahead of the 1200m Group One sprint on Saturday week.

"It all went well and we were pleased with him. It's all systems go for the Golden Jubilee," said trainer Hughie Morrison.

"He'll have a little spin next Tuesday, but he won't be asked to quicken up like he was today."
