Blues close to securing stars

Superstar forward Brendan Fevola's future beyond 2008 remains unclear but Carlton is close to re-signing two of its younger stars.
Key defender Jarrad Waite and boom midfielder Marc Murphy are set to sign new deals with the club, coach Brett Ratten said on Tuesday.
"We've got to fulfil his (Waite) contract and finish that off as well, and I think Murphy's pretty much done hopefully," he said. "There's a few others as well."
Fevola, out of contract at the end of the season, has reportedly been offered a four-year deal worth $3 million by Sydney.
The forward's playing future has recently been the subject of much conjecture, some of it generated by Fevola himself.
Ratten denied Fevola's behaviour was irking him.
"You probably prefer not to say that but Brendan's, I suppose he's a different character than most," he said.
"And the way he goes about his footy is a lot different. I suppose we can't squash that out of him. He's very outward and says what he likes to do."
"We don't want to take that away from him. We just need to harness it. Maybe it's flattering that another club's got an interest, if they have any interest, I'm not sure."
