Collingwood forward Travis Cloke expects the Magpies' forward structure to undergo a much-needed overhaul for Saturday night's cut-throat semi-final against Adelaide.
But whichever way the attack sets up, Cloke is hoping that Anthony Rocca is part of it.
A controversial inclusion for last Sunday's 28-point qualifying final loss to St Kilda, Rocca scored two of Collingwood's seven goals from just five touches in what was only his fourth senior outing for the season.
Cloke blames the lack of supply generally and poor delivery for the scoreline which was the club's second-lowest for the season, along with an attacking set-up that simply failed to click.
"When we brought it into our forward half it wasn't as great as we would have liked, but we'll sit down and go through it and see what structures did work for us and what didn't," said Cloke at the Lexus Centre on Tuesday.
"There's definitely some negatives in the forward structures that weren't set up right and we were a bit slack in our positioning."
"Hopefully we can it right this weekend."
If the Pies are to get it right, it's likely they'll need to make do without Rocca who finished Sunday's contest on the bench in real discomfort with his lower left leg caked in ice after aggravating a long-standing ankle injury.
The six-day turnaround isn't helping the 32-year-old's race to be fit, but Cloke is desperately hoping it's a race that Rocca wins.
"He may've only had a couple of touches but, gee, he was important for us up forward," Cloke declared.
"His impact and just his voice is so important for John Anthony and myself - we're the younger ones in our forward half."
"Him being up there and his instructions and Anthony Rocca being Anthony Rocca on a football field is very important to us."
"I'm really hoping his ankle is fine and he's up and running this weekend because I really love playing with Anthony."
"He seems to be moving pretty well walking around today - he's got a bit of a limp but I think he's had a bit of a limp going around for the last 12 months."
"Hopefully he can get up and run at training tomorrow and also at Friday's session."
Quizzed about his own form and confidence in front of the sticks, Cloke, who could manage only two behinds against the Saints for a season's tally of 21.24 from 20 outings, conceded: "I've missed some sitters over the last couple of months".
"But I've sat down with Anthony Rocca and (forwards coach) Paul Hudson, and we've gone through what I've done right and what I've done wrong."
"I'm looking forward to getting out there this weekend and try to have a couple more shots on goal, because I'm feeling very confident in front of goals."
"I missed that one on the weekend and hit the post, but I guess that's football – you can't kick them all and I think that shows with mine."
"I'm not kicking them all and kicking a lot of points, but I think I'm slowly getting there."
"Hopefully I am getting there and it's showing the supporters that I am trying to improve in that area of my football."
Cloke said the Magpies weren't fussed about the disparity between their own six-day break and the eight days afforded the confident Crows coming off their thumping home win over Essendon at AAMI Stadium last Friday.
"I think the older blokes would like a couple more days, definitely, but most of the boys are young and with the recovery sessions we do now we've got it pretty-well covered off," he said.
"Right now, I feel pretty confident my body's feeling fine now to go out and do a pretty heavy training session."
