Adelaide hopes to take full advantage of its eight-day break ahead of its semi-final against either Collingwood or St Kilda next Saturday night at the MCG.
While there shouldn't be too many sore bodies from the Crows' emphatic 96-point victory against the Bombers, coach Neil Craig said recovery would be a key focus for his squad.
The week ahead will be particularly critical for some of the team's first-choice players who are currently on the sidelines with injury.
"It could be important for Nathan Bock, it will certainly be important for Nathan van Berlo, Rob Shirley, it'll be good for him but he probably really didn't need it. Unless something happens out of the blue there he should be okay," Craig said.
"Just from a general physical recovery it's important we utilise the extra two days, or extra one day we have."
With a rested squad the Crows' biggest challenge could be ignoring the hype they're sure to receive from the Adelaide media and public next week.
Craig said the team did well to absorb that external pressure ahead of Friday night's clash.
"I guess I enjoyed the way the players handled the huge expectation leading up to the game and then to be able to perform like that under that expectation," he said.
"We don't mind having it but it's also a challenge handling it at stages."
Meanwhile Craig says his club has taken a 'step forward' with its win against Essendon breaking a three-game losing streak in finals.
Under Craig's leadership the Crows have been a consistent performer in the home-and-away season but that fact has been overshadowed somewhat by their 2-5 finals record.
"The thing I've liked about the players is that they've fronted up to it, they haven't tried to hide away from it, they've actually seeked the opportunity to start the process to putting that record in a different manner," Craig said.
"We've made some inroads into that and I guess all I can say is that it was a great step forward for us as a football club tonight, to be able to win a final and to be able to win it in that manner."
"The players really need to feel good about themselves and feel good about it but she rolls on again next week."
