Rhys Palmer's heroic western derby performance has earned the Fremantle midfielder the nod for Round 3's NAB Rising Star nomination.
Palmer starred for the Dockers in their 14-point win against the Eagles at Subiaco on Saturday.
A gash in his head suffered in the opening term required nine staples but couldn't slow the 19-year-old.
He gathered 24 touches, including 17 in the first half, as Fremantle knocked off its cross-town rival and opened its 2008 account.
Palmer had 19 disposals on debut against Hawthorn in Round 2 and won the praise of coach Mark Harvey.
The left-footer, the No.7 pick at the 2007 draft, hails from Bullcreek-Leeming and played with East Fremantle.
Palmer was one of Western Australia's best players in the 2007 under-18 championships, averaging 32 disposals and three goals in three matches.
