In-form North Melbourne big man David Hale brings up game number 100 for the Kangaroos this weekend and if he gets his way he will play many more for the club in the years ahead.
Hale, whose eight goal performance in a losing side against the might of Geelong last week was arguably the individual performance of the season so far, hails from the Gold Coast and as such can expect a lucrative offer from the new club ahead of its entry to the competition in 2011.
But the 24-year-old - one of the most improved players in the AFL this season - told Sportal he is happy to stay at Arden Street and wants to win a premiership with North.
"I hope to be here my whole career," he said, ahead of Saturday's must win clash against Port Adelaide at the MCG.
"This is my seventh year here now - coming from the Gold Coast and coming down to the big smoke is a big move when you are 17 - but I have definitely enjoyed my time here and hopefully that can continue until I finish my career."
Hale admits he is asked repeatedly about a possible move back to the Gold Coast in 2011 but is focused on winning a flag with North - with the Kangaroos' reaching the preliminary final last year and needing to beat Port on Saturday to secure a top four finish for the second successive season.
"I enjoy my football here and I think we have got a pretty good team to go forward and taste success in the years to come," he said.
"The biggest thing in football is to be part of a team that wins a premiership and hopefully we can do that here."
Hale said the Roos have all the motivation in the world to win on Saturday.
"Obviously you want to control your destiny at this time of year and if we win, we finish fourth (and get the double chance) and we have got Shannon's 300th game so we have got extra motivation as well," he said of Grant's 300th game this weekend.
Grant's major milestone this week and the fact he has also announced his retirement - effective at season's end - has meant that Hale's 100th game has gone by virtually unnoticed this week.
And that is just the way he likes it, although the in-form big man's profile is set to soar if he
