Jason Porplyzia says Adelaide players need to be more accountable and absorb increased pressure if they are to shake their midseason goal kicking blues.
The Crows have kicked a disappointing 14.37 in the last two weeks which included a 5.17 in their loss against the Eagles and a 9.20 against the Bombers in Round 10.
Both of those scores were compiled in slippery conditions but Porplyzia said the wet weather could not be used as an excuse.
"The responsibility lies with the guys who are having shots on goal; (Brett) Burton and Goody (Simon Goodwin), Kurt (Tippett) and myself," Porplyzia said.
"We've got to make sure we're individually doing everything we can to make sure when we get our chances we make sure we kick them."
On the weekend Essendon coach Matthew Knights put the Crows' inaccuracy down to the pressure his players put on their opponents.
Porplyzia said that may have also played a part in the team's recent lopsided scores.
"I know if we are obviously taking them (shots at goal) from further and from tight angles it makes it harder. It's our endeavour to make sure we can try and straighten up and attack the goal face where we can," he said.
"Whether that's a factor of the opposition sort of putting on more pressure ... I think certainly in the last few weeks you see throughout the AFL, teams are working more on their defensive game."
Goal kicking aside, Adelaide's forward line may get an enforced shake-up if Brett Burton is cited for his bump on Essendon's Henry Slattery in Round 10.
But the Crows are already preparing for that scenario; Porplyzia said Nick Gill, who has had his own yips in front of goal in the past, might come under consideration if 'The Birdman' is suspended.
"We saw last year the impact that he had in the few games he played. He was certainly a big presence for us up there, he's a strong marking guy and his running capabilities are up there with Brett's," Porplyzia said.
"So he's certainly someone we are looking forward to having back in the side."
A club official said Luke Jericho and Patrick Dangerfield were other players that could be in the mix come selection time.
Meanwhile Porplyzia is having his best season in the AFL with 15 goals from 10 games. The only negative to his productive season has been his ongoing shoulder injury.
But the 24-year-old said he was coping with the problem
"The last few weeks it settled down and I haven't had too many incidents with it. That's just something I have to keep managing and keep on top of but so far it's been pretty good," he said.
"It's actually not too bad in terms of contact and that sort of thing it's more when it (the ball) gets out of range and I'm extending that it can be a bit vulnerable.
"I'm certainly not shirking any sort of bumping or anything like that's for sure."
