Jamison's season over

Jamison's season over

13/08/2009 7:09 PM

Carlton defender Michael Jamison has been booked in for surgery on his injured groin and will play no further part in the Blues' season.

The 23-year-old, a key figure in the Carlton defence, battled a shoulder injury earlier in the season and more recently a groin condition which kept him sidelined for the past four matches.

The club's official website reports that Jamison hoped to avoid surgery but his failure to respond to rest and rehabilitation convinced the Blues' medicos that surgery was the best option.

Jamison played 13 games in 2009 for a career tally of 31 after being elevated from the Carlton rookie list at the end of 2007.
