Fiery Richmond tagger Jake King has played his last game of the season after he was offered a minimum two-week ban for striking Collingwood's Alan Didak in the fall-out from Saturday's volatile match at the MCG.
King was charged by the AFL's match review panel on Monday with a level-three offence for hitting Didak in the second quarter which sparked an ugly melee.
King has carry-over points from the past 12 months, increasing the penalty to three matches if he doesn't acccept an early plea.
The 20 players involved in the melee, with 10 from either side, were handed fines combining more than $26,000.
Richmond's Tom Hislop, who didn't have a prior record, has also paid the price for the spiteful clash.
The former Bomber can accept a one-match ban for striking Shane O'Bree in the fourth quarter if he takes an early plea.
Another incident involving Hislop and Magpies' skipper Nick Maxwell in the second quarter was adjudged 'below that required to constitute a reportable offence'.
The Tigers are out of finals contention and have two games remaining, against Hawthorn and West Coast.
Didak, however, won't face any time on the sidelines after his front-on tackle on Mark Coughlan in the second term was assessed to have hit the Tiger's back and wasn't 'high'.
Magpie teammate Travis Cloke is also free to play against Sydney on Sunday because of 'inconclusive' evidence involving an alleged incident with Luke McGuane.
After the melee it appeared McGuane said to an umpire he had been bitten, his complaint heard by TV microphones.
"Due to the inconclusive nature of the video evidence, an investigation into the contact took place," the AFL said in a statement.
"Due to the Richmond player’s evidence, no further action could be taken."
Collingwood midfielder Dane Swan was slugged the heaviest of the 20 players booked in the melee, fined $4000 because it was the third time he had been cited on the charge. Swan can cut the penalty to $3000 with a guilty plea, but regardless remains eligible to win the Brownlow Medal.
The remaining players faces fines each of $1200 with an early plea.
King was among the Richmond players booked, along with Hislop, Brett Deledio, Angus Graham, Richard Tambling, Luke McGuane, Robin Nahas, Will Thursfield, Mark Coughlan and Daniel Jackson.
The other Collingwood players reported were Maxwell, O'Bree, Harry O'Brien, Dayne Beams, Chris Dawes, Heath Shaw, Alan Toovey, Leigh Brown and Tarkyn Lockyer.
Geelong forward Steve Johnson was charged with striking Sydney's Craig Bolton on Saturday night but he can accept a reprimand and 45 points towards his future record with an early plea.
