Western Bulldogs utility Andrew McDougall has quit the club.
The 25-year-old has been unable to break into the strong Bulldogs line-up this season after having played five matches in 2007, his first year at Whitten Oval following a trade from West Coast.
In a prepared statement, the club said that despite being a regular with the club's VFL affiliate Williamstown, McDougall decided this week to terminate his contract.
Western Bulldogs football manager James Fantasia said McDougall had now officially signed out of his contract following a weekend home in Perth.
"He met the coaches last week and discussed his future and I think he felt that it was time to move on," Fantasia said.
"There is no animosity at all and the club wishes him well with his future endeavours."
McDougall was originally drafted by the West Coast Eagles with selection No.5 in the 2000 National Draft. He played 38 games for the Eagles between 2001-06.
