New deal for Ratten

New deal for Ratten

18/12/2008 8:23 PM

Carlton coach Brett Ratten will remain at the helm of the club until the end of the 2011 season.

Ratten guided the Blues to an 11th placed finish in 2008 and was duly rewarded for his good work with a two-year contract extension.

Carlton president Stephen Kernahan announced the news at the Blues AGM on Thursday night.

"It gives me great pleasure to confirm that the Board has extended Brett's contract for a further two years," Kernahan said.

Carlton has not made a final series since 2001, but with Chris Judd leading a young midfield in 2009, many experts are tipping the Blues to be the big improvers next year.
