Collingwood president Eddie McGuire remains unconcerned by Richmond's growing interest in trying to poach Mick Malthouse as coach insisting the Pies will sort out their coaching situation in 'due course'.
McGuire also dismissed speculation on Wednesday that former captain Nathan Buckley had been offered the job as coach of the Magpies' VFL side next year at a time when the Pies' feeder club will return to playing home matches at the club's traditional home ground Victoria Park.
The Pies have been desperate to keep both Malthouse and Buckley within their ranks for fear that if Malthouse, who is out of contract at the end of this season, is re-appointed and Buckley turns down an assistant coaching role with the Pies then the 2003 Brownlow Medalist may end up accepting a senior coaching job at a rival club and coaching against the Pies for years to come.
Malthouse, who is on the verge of steering the Pies into the finals for the fourth year in a row and for the sixth time in ten seasons since taking over in 2000, has yet to sign a new deal to remain at the Lexus Centre and is believed to be growing disappointed at the delay.
Earlier this week Richmond president Gary March said his club - which has begun interviewing candidates this week as it looks to replace the axed Terry Wallace next year - would chase Malthouse, who played in the Tigers' last premiership back in 1980, if the Pies have not re-signed him within the next couple of weeks.
But McGuire insists the Pies won't be rushed into making an announcement on their coaching position for next year.
"I am president of Collingwood, I don't worry about anyone else," McGuire said on when asked if Richmond's interest in poaching Malthouse would force the Pies into a decision on their coaching situation sooner rather than later.
When asked if there had been no progress on the Pies' coaching situation; McGuire replied: "That is what you are saying."
"Nothing has changed in regards to our public utterances (on the coaching position) we know what we are doing at Collingwood and that is it."
"Mick is contracted (for this season), his contract is under control and it (an announcement on the Pies' coaching position) will happen in due course."
