Football supporters at Subiaco will witness a dull fourth quarter unless Fremantle or Port Adelaide can significantly improve their finishing skills for their Round 10 clash on Sunday.
Both teams are under pressure to show they can get the job done after fading in several disappointing performances during the first half of the season.
The Dockers have lost their past four games after leading at three-quarter time. Port blew a late lead against Sydney last week and was left looking red-faced after putting in poor final terms against West Coast and Brisbane earlier in the year.
Port Adelaide assistant coach Matthew Primus said the team needed to improve its game in a hurry if it was to keep its season alive.
"What's been letting us down has been the times in crucial stages of matches where we haven't been able to get it exactly right," he said.
"If we don't get a good result it makes the season a little bit tougher for us, no doubt about that, but the games we've lost already have made the season tough."
"They (Fremantle) can say exactly the same thing so if we win it's a great result for us, if we win we keep our season alive."
But the Power won't be the only team trying to make amends for past setbacks. Primus said his club was fully aware the Dockers were facing their own problems.
"They are a team that obviously we know haven't been able to run out last quarters and that will prove an issue for them," he said.
"I think it's a matter of if you don't win a couple of those close games or if you lose a lead at three-quarter time, and you don't get up, it perpetuates itself."
"I don't think it is a fitness issue, it's probably a belief issue."
The Power are bracing themselves for a physical game with the Dockers including Josh Carr and Mark Johnson in their squad.
But it hasn't stopped them adding some flash to their line-up with Nathan Krakouer the likely replacement for the injured Brett Ebert.
Port will also be hoping to produce another away win to celebrate Kane Cornes' 150th game and David Rodan's 100th.
Rodan said he was pleased to reach the milestone after being dumped by the Tigers a few seasons ago.
"I think I had a belief in myself that I had a few more years left, I didn't think it was done there at Richmond," he said.
"I don't take things for granted anymore, I try to make the most of every training session and every game."
