Carlton coach Brett Ratten has scoffed at suggestions his club could yet end up the loser out of the Chris Judd deal despite the Blues landing one of the game's best players and their new captain.
In his first season with Carlton, the new skipper is averaging a healthy 23.7 disposals per game and has kicked nine goals in 10 games but does not appear to be having the same sensational impact that he had during his time with the Eagles.
And while the Eagles might be struggling this season without both Judd and Ben Cousins, their part of the Judd deal has certainly delivered for them.
The Eagles not only gained picks three and 20 in last year's draft for Judd but also promising former Carlton key forward Josh Kennedy.
And while Kennedy has just succumbed to a knee injury, he has booted seven goals in five games for the Eagles so far and is averaging more than seven marks a game.
The player the Eagles secured at pick three in midfielder Chris Masten looks a star in the making, having averaged more than 16 possessions per game in seven appearances in his debut season.
But while Judd is averaging two less disposals per game this season than during 2006 when he captained the Eagles to the flag, Ratten says the Blues still consider the Judd deal 'an enormous win' for their club.
"We thought Josh (Kennedy) would be a good player and we are pleased for Josh to be playing great footy for the Eagles because he is a fantastic kid."
"But regardless of what happens to the other picks and with Masten, I am not worried because I know the impact Chris Judd has had at our footy club."
Ratten also pointed out the Blues got pick 46 as part of the deal and the player gained with that pick in last year's draft in Dennis Armfield made an impressive debut against Geelong last week.
"So for us (the Judd trade) is just a win for us and that is all we are worried about," he said.
The Blues head to Port Adelaide this week again with a reshuffled defence with Jarrad Waite back from suspension but Paul Bower is out - possibly for the rest of the season - with a shoulder injury while Michael Jamison is still a week away from returning from his shoulder injury.
But Ratten says Bret Thornton should be much better this week
