Hawthorn premiership ruckman Brent Renouf has been interviewed by police over damage to two parked vehicles in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Renouf has accepted full responsibility for the incident, which occurred at the Geebung Polo Club and voluntarily met with police on Sunday to provide a full statement.
A second Hawthorn player was a bystander to the incident and has been cleared of any involvement.
A remorseful Renouf admitted to being under the influence alcohol and will meet the cost for all damages incurred.
General manager of football operations Mark Evans spoke to the player involved, and said that the club is extremely disappointed by his actions.
"Brent understands that he made some poor choices in relation to alcohol and social behavior," he said in a statement.
"Brent will personally meet the cost of damage to the vehicles."
"Hawthorn football club players and staff take their social and community responsibility very seriously and no one is more disappointed than the player himself at his actions."
Renouf will meet with coaching staff and the leadership group to determine any internal sanctions.
