Adelaide's top-four status is about to be put to the test with its upcoming game against Richmond the start of a tough seven-week stretch.
The Tigers aren't travelling well but the Crows are 1-3 on the road. And only one of their seven wins this season has come against a side currently in the top eight.
Adelaide's next six games are against Hawthorn, the in-form Brisbane, Geelong, Collingwood, its arch rival Port followed by an away clash against Sydney.
Veteran Tyson Edwards said the team hadn't look too far ahead but were ready for the challenge of tackling some of the top-ranked sides.
"We'll get a good guide of how we are going," Edwards said.
"There are some good teams coming up, you can only beat who you are playing I guess, so we'll worry about Richmond this week and then worry about the rest later."
"Winning form is good form and once you start winning you tend to get on a roll and hopefully that can keep going."
"We think we are a good team but you can't really judge yourself until the end of the year when you see where you finish up."
The tough run starts at the MCG this Saturday and the Crows will have to tackle the Tigers without the suspended Brett Burton.
Trent Hentschel remains an outside chance of replacing the form forward although competition will be fierce for the vacant attacking role - Luke Jericho, Ken McGregor and Patrick Dangerfield are also pressing for selection.
Edwards said Hentschel had shown enough on the training track and with Woodville-West Torrens to suggest he was ready for a recall.
"He's been training fine and he's in some good nick now so we'll see what the selectors do," he said.
"It would great for the supporters and more importantly it would be good for him just to get out there and play again, hopefully that's not too far away."
"I think he's had a few full games in the SANFL now so we'll see what happens."
Meanwhile, Edwards said he's happy to wait until the end of the season to sign up for another year with Adelaide.
"If you are playing good footy then you won't have a problem," he said.
"I haven't put a date or a year on when I'll finish up. If I'm still enjoying it and am still playing good footy that's the main thing, I'll put my hand up to go again."
"I still love playing, I still like playing well, still like winning and when you get a bit older you get a chance to help some younger guys as well and that's quite enjoyable."
