Australian centre Andrew Bogut has been officially recognised for his recent hot streak of form with the Milwaukee Bucks by being named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
Bogut has been a dominant force behind Milwaukee's current six-match winning streak and was handed the award for averaging 19.3 points, 13.7 rebounds and nearly four blocked shots in the past three games.
It caps off a stellar season for the former No.1 draft pick who is eighth in the league for double-doubles (32) and only superstar Orlando centre Dwight Howard (2.7) is averaging more blocks per match than Bogut (2.5) this campaign.
Bogut and Howard are the only two players averaging at least 15 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks a game in 2009/10.
Bogut's form has prompted Boomers head coach Brett Brown to label the Buck the best centre in the NBA.
"At the moment, there is no centre in the NBA playing any better than Andrew Bogut," Brown said.
"Forget my opinion, just look at his statistics and look at the mere fact that his team is winning basketball games."
The Bucks have now won 12 out of their past 13 matches and are currently seeded fifth in the East with a 36-29 record.
