Australian centre Andrew Bogut failed to fire as the Milwaukee Bucks fell 105-96 to the Detroit Pistons.
Bogut only contributed eight points and pulled in five rebounds in the loss, while Rodney Stuckey scored 19 points and rookie Jonas Jerebko added 16 for the Pistons.
The Pistons, who had Charlie Villanueva back in their line-up after a broken nose, won for just the second time in 10 games against a side who have lost six of their last seven.
Elsewhere, the worst start to a season in NBA history is over, as a result of New Jersey Nets' 97-91 defeat of Charlotte Bobcats.
The Nets had lost 18 games in a row - but they finally got things right in their first game under Kiki Vandeweghe, their general manager who will coach the rest of the season.
