The Townsville Crocodiles believe they'll need an improved mindset and outside game if they are to compete against the South Dragons this Thursday.
Stinging from a poor shooting performance against the Adelaide 36ers on Friday, coach Trevor Gleeson says its 'back to the drawing board' for his players.
Against the Sixers they managed to drop just three, three pointers from 23 attempts.
John Rillie, Brad Williamson, Michael Cedar and Corey Williams put up 14 of those shots without success.
The Crocs' finish from the line - 19 points at 70 per cent - wasn't spectacular either.
Gleeson said the Sixers provided strong resistance but thought his players were their own worst enemy.
"On the road you've got to have the concentration. I think we were wide open for a number of threes and we couldn't make them," he said.
"As a professional athlete you've got to knock those things down, especially on the road."
"If you are missing foul shots and open threes it's pretty easy to play defence."
Gleeson was also disappointed his team let the game slip after working their way back into the contest with a 23-15 second quarter.
"It'll make for sleepless nights coming up. We were fairly confident coming into here and to give a team 16 points and to fight back and then tie it up in the third … we just relaxed again at the end," he said.
"The game was up there to win in the third quarter and Adelaide took it …we have to go back to the drawing board."
