Australian Team Profile
Clint Robinson's fight to make the Australian Olympic team could yet pay off with the kayaking great eyeing a second gold medal.
Robinson has been given the green light for his Olympic swansong in Beijing after former crew-mate Luke Michael lost his last appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The CAS ruled in Australian Canoeing's favour against disgruntled Sydney paddler Michael.
Robinson, 35, is Australia's last gold medallist in the event after success at Barcelona in 1992.
He will compete in his fifth Games and is out to add to his medal tally of gold, silver and bronze over four Games campaigns.
The flatwater and slalom events will be held at Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park north of Beijing.
Flatwater canoeing made its debut as a full Olympic sport in Berlin in 1936. Women paddlers first competed at London 1948.
Australia first competed in canoeing in Melbourne in 1956.
