Trevor Barsby has been reappointed as coach of the Queensland Bulls for a further two seasons.
Barsby recently served as assistant to Australian coach Tim Nielsen during the Ashes tour and will now be tied to the Bulls on a two-year deal.
The 100-game veteran tasted success in his inaugural season in the job with Queensland making three Finals and winning the Ford Ranger Cup.
Queensland Cricket Chairman Damien Mullins thanked Barsby for his dedication in his first season and congratulated him on his new contract.
"Queensland Cricket is indeed fortunate that we have been able to draw upon Trevor's experience as a player and the passion for the Bulls that he displayed," he said.
Barsby said he was looking forward to continuing to develop the current Bulls squad.
"It's a great time to be involved in the game. We've got some very talented and very keen young men in our group and with the opportunities available now and in the future in the Australian team, its just a tremendous time to be playing," he said.
"Queensland Cricket has been blessed with some out and out champions in the past decade but with the likes of Andy Bichel, Martin Love, Jimmy Maher, Michael Kasprowicz and Matthew Hayden moving on, the opportunity is now there for the next crop to seize the day."
"My focus from day one has been for the players to improve their skills and execute them in games – we saw some promising signs last summer but it is up to us to continue to work as hard and as smart as we can if we are to keep developing as individuals and as a team."
