It was a disappointing Test for the bowlers, with Stuart Clark and Brett Lee both slipping one place each to third and fifth respectively.
India's bowlers also fell in the rankings with Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma dropping two and five places respectively.
Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir rocketed up 11 places to 18th position to achieve his career-best ranking thanks to a 206 and 36 in his two innings in the third Test.
