International Cricket Council president David Morgan has called a board meeting on Wednesday after the Champions League Twenty20 tournament was scheduled to clash with the reserve day for the ICC Champions Trophy.
The clash could see players wanting to leave to take part in the lucrative tournament before the Champions Trophy has concluded.
The Champions League is scheduled to begin on September 29, the reserve day for the final of the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
"All our directors are committed to the principle of the primacy of ICC events and every one of them wants the ICC Champions Trophy to be a successful, premium-quality tournament," an ICC spokesman said.
"On that basis the directors will consider whether, and if so how, the Champions League will impact on that desired outcome, given its proposed start date of 29 September, the reserve day of the ICC Champions Trophy final."
