MacGill's future unclear

The domestic cricket future of leg spinner Stuart MacGill remains unclear as neither Cricket Australia or the New South Wales team have heard from him.
The Blues got their Ford Ranger Cup season off to the ideal start with a win over Western Australia on Wednesday, but it was without MacGill.
While that was no surprise given he hasn't been in the NSW one-day team for some time, he also won't be in the Sheffield Shield side for the game starting on Friday at the WACA as nobody has heard from him.
The 37-year-old retired from international cricket in June this year after playing 44 Tests and taking 208 wickets, but the Blues have not heard either way on his plans to continue playing for NSW and if he wants to add to his 774 first-class wickets.
Captain Dominic Thornely was just as unaware as everyone else when quizzed about MacGill's whereabouts or future plans, but made it clear if he wished to come back he would have to earn his spot.
"You tell me (as to where MacGill is). We haven't seen Stu. He has been struggling a little bit with his body but we haven't spotted him at training. There has been contact tried to be made by both Cricket Australia and New South Wales Cricket but Stu is busy doing his own stuff, and doing it pretty well," Thornely said.
"We know Stuey pretty well and the style of character he is. Our focus is on our young guys, especially our young spinners, at the moment and we have three or four of them who are bowling exceptionally well. My focus and my aim is to get all them bowling in the cricket matches that we play."
"If he comes back he needs to do it through grade cricket and to show some form there. At the moment, though, our focus is on these kids and developing future Australian cricketers, which is what we do at New South Wales Cricket."
