No Vaughan for Redbacks

South Australia has scotched rumours that former England captain Michael Vaughan is set to play for the Redbacks this year.
Vaughan, whose international career is at the crossroads after being left out of England's squad for the upcoming tour of India, was said to be considering playing club cricket in Adelaide as he looks to find his form and confidence.
According to British newspaper, the Mail on Sunday, Vaughan's connections with former Yorkshire team-mate Darren Lehmann could see him move to the City of Churches as he bids to win favour ahead of January's tour of the West Indies.
But SACA High Performance Manager Jamie Cox said there was no chance of Vaughan playing for the Redbacks.
"This is categorically not the case", Cox said. "The Redbacks have had no conversations with Mr Vaughan regarding his recruitment to the side."
"I am not familiar with any conversations Mr Lehmann may have had with Mr Vaughan regarding playing at Grade level, and this may well be an option for him."
"But he has never been considered as a candidate for the Redbacks this season and he will not be playing for South Australia."
"It is important to remember that under the MOU, state sides are only permitted to play one international recruit and that in the Redbacks squad, this role has been filled by Younus Khan."
