The Southern Stars have sunk to their second-straight loss to England after falling 55 runs short in the second one-day international at County Ground in Chelmsford on Tuesday.
Sarah Taylor was on fire for the Poms, blasting her way to a superb run-a-ball 120 to guide the hosts to an imposing 6-259.
She was well supported by Claire Taylor and Beth Morgan, who added 42 and 41 runs respectively.
Sarah Andrews was the pick of the Australian bowlers with two wickets, while Renne Farrel, Ellyse Perry and Lisa Sthalekar chimed with one each.
Australia looked on target for victory when it reached 2-107, but a middle order collapse sparked by superb bowling from Laura Marsh (3-33) and Nicky Shaw (3-39) enabled England to eventually bowl out the hosts for 204 runs in the 44th over.
Shelley Nitschke top scored for the Southern Stars with 47, while Sthalekar added 43 and Lauren Ebsary 38.
