Tait won't tour after side strain

Injury-plagued Redbacks fast bowler Shaun Tait was overlooked for Australia's upcoming Twenty20 and one-day matches in England after suffering a side strain during the Emerging Players Tournament last month.
Tait, who was dropped from Cricket Australia's contract list earlier this year and the reinstated following Andrew Symonds' contract termination, was still considered an outside chance of playing in the shorter versions of the game but fell out of calculations after his setback.
National Selection Panel chairman Andrew Hilditch said Tait would be on the sidelines for four weeks but would still be in the selectors' minds for future competitions.
"Shaun wasn't considered for these tournaments, he's got a side strain at the moment," Hilditch said.
"He's had a disappointing run with injuries but I'm not over-reacting to what is a fairly minor side strain which he got in the emerging players tournament."
"He came back pretty well, he improved every game in Australian 'A', so it's just a matter of him getting back and being fully fit and hopefully he'll achieve that."
