WEEKEND SOCCER BETTING PREVIEW

WEEKEND SOCCER BETTING PREVIEW

14/11/2008 7:08 PM

To put the misery of Adelaide United’s disappointing Asian Champions League tilt behind us, we’d like you to make the most of a $XX free matched bet on any of this weekend’s soccer fixtures. Simply place a bet or number of bets up to this amount on any soccer market, and we’ll reimburse you your outlay, dollar for dollar.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
Punters are steadily warming to Manchester United’s title chances, despite their inconsistent start to the season and loss to the hands of a hot Arsenal last weekend. Backed at a season high of 4.80 very recently, the Red Devils have since been well supported (now 4.40 to back) as punters have realised the back end of their season appears less foreboding than the front. Trailblazers Chelsea dominate premiership betting; layers staggeringly reluctant to offer any better than 1.88. This suggests that Liverpool – equal on points to the Blues – are the value in the market at 5.80.

A-LEAGUE
As we mentioned earlier, Adelaide were most disappointing in the Asian Champions League final against Gamba Osaka. They face an arguably weaker opposition this Saturday (7.30pm AEDT) in the Central Coast Mariners, but despite this find themselves 2.80 outsiders. Check out the full market here.

And in perhaps an ever greater surprise, given the lengthy quote applied by layers in this weekend’s only A-League match, Adelaide are only marginally longer – at 3.20 – to be 08/09 A-League champions. That said, punters see it a close-run race in four – Sydney FC at 2.58, Melbourne Victory at 2.84, Adelaide and the Mariners (3.30). A golden opportunity for patient punters to trade throughout the season as each team’s fortunes fluctuate.
