The jury is still out on whether the Townsville Crocodiles' 12-day break will help or hinder their chances when they host the Perth Wildcats on Friday.
Townsville was on fire before its enforced time-out, with three wins in a row including a 97-80 victory over Conner Henry's line-up.
However with almost two weeks on the sidelines, the Crocs are keen to find out whether their winning ways can continue, according to veteran guard John Rillie.
"Everyone is happy with the way it's going and I guess this Friday night we'll see whether the break has been a good one for us or not," he said.
"We were absolutely disastrous in Adelaide but after our first game we've had three very good wins, all coming from different types of scenarios in game situations so our confidence is there."
"We did definitely have the momentum."
The 36-year-old is optimistic the break was a positive for his team-mates.
"It's been good for us because we had a few guys with a few injuries that just needed a bit of time to heal - in particular Rosell Ellis with the injury he sustained in either our second or third game," he said.
"From that point of view, the break couldn't have come at a better time because he's an important ingredient in our side and to have him 100 percent is what we need."
"At practice he looked like he's was getting up and down pretty good on both legs whereas previously he was definitely favouring the one leg."
Rillie said the team had kept its routine as normal as possible during the long gap between games although admitted a corporate golf day last week had been a good chance for the players to relax.
But he said the Crocodiles had refocussed quickly and were keen to beat the Wildcats again. The 195cm player said Shawn Redhage and Darnell Hinson were the danger men for the team from the west.
"When he (Hinson) is given some freedom he can rack up some points and be devastating in a short space of time and really open up the game," Rillie said.
Meanwhile the 402-game player believes his side has a range of players that can step up when the teams clash at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on Friday.
"Corey (Williams) had a sensational week two for us where he was player of the week. I had a front row seat to watch that and he was in form," he said.
"I think guys like Russell Hinder and Cam Tovey are really enjoying probably the freedom they get to play with and just the extra court time they've been afforded in moving up to Townsville."
"I think right now we are at probably more at the stage of learning more about ourselves. If we play at a good high energy level, as we've shown sporadically over our three weeks, we are going to be a pretty decent team."
