Ford Performance Racing has completed the quinella of the first race of the V8 Supercar series at Hidden Valley in Darwin.
Starting from pole, Mark Winterbottom was never headed on his way to a dominant victory.
Winterbottom completed the 42 laps in a time of 51:11.6729, to finish just under four seconds clear of team-mate Steven Richards.
"I was a little bit worried at the start line there because Steve is a bloody good starter. Luckily I got to the first corner first and the car was just fantastic," Winterbottom said after the race.
"Coming here 12 months ago we had a few weaknesses but we're on top of it now, we've worked hard for this. When you've got one car there it's great but when you've got two there it's exceptional."
Richards was pleased with the way he and his team-mate performed in the race.
"It's very nice to start on the front row next to your team mate. We talked about what would happen if we both got to the first corner together but it didn't come to that," he said.
"The biggest drama in the race was kicking up some dirt and getting it in my eye but other than that it went brilliantly."
"The other teams are going to make changes before tomorrow and they'll come back stronger and fighting. We've got to improve as well to meet them and I would still like to win this round and mix it up with Frosty."
It was a close battle for third place, with Garth Tander just getting the better of Jamie Whincup.
Whincup's Vodafone team-mate Craig Lowndes rounded out the top five.
Holden drivers Jason Richards and Russell Ingall finished sixth and seventh respectively.
Will Davison, Rick Kelly and James Courtney raced well to finish in the top ten.
Winterbottom increased his overall championship lead to 66 points over second-placed Tander.
Two more 42-lap races are scheduled for Sunday.
