AFL director of umpiring Jeff Gieschen announced on Tuesday that Scott McLaren, Michael Vozzo and Shaun Ryan would officiate the 2008 Grand Final on Saturday between Geelong and Hawthorn.
Surprisingly, All-Australian umpire Brett Rosebury was not selected to oversee proceedings for the year's biggest match and instead will take his place on the interchange as an emergency.
Gieschen explained that Rosebury missed out as he hadn't umpired as well during the finals series as he had in the regular season.
The highly-anticipated premiership decider will be McLaren's fifth and Vozzo's second while Ryan will make his first appearance in a grand final.
The trio share 669 games, 60 finals and five grand finals' worth of experience between them.
McLaren has been charged with the coveted duty of bouncing the ball at the start of the match.
