Crows v Cats, snippets
TURNING POINT: The Crows threatened to make a game of it by dominating the first 10 minutes of the third term. They had 11 'inside 50s' but could only manage one goal during that period. The Cats then made them pay for their inefficiency with a Joel Corey major breaking the home side's spirit and returning the ascendancy back to the visitors.
CLASSIC GRAB: The AAMI Stadium crowd gave Nathan van Berlo a Bronx cheer for scoring the Crows' first point 21 minutes into the first quarter. They were shocked moments later when Jimmy Bartel used van Berlo as a step ladder to take a two-grab screamer from the kick out.
STAR MAN: Jimmy Bartel was one several Geelong players that had a field day at AAMI Stadium. He collected 41 disposals and was part of a devastating midfield combination.
ABSOLUTE SHOCKER: During the third term a Tyson Edwards' snap shot appeared to clear the goal-line and then bounce back into play. But the goal umpire saw it differently and play continued without Adelaide registering a score. It would've been a crucial goal for the Crows who were fighting hard to get back into the contest.
WHAT A GOAL! Matthew Stokes displayed touch, evasiveness and composure to record the goal of the game. The South Australian picked up a ball on the half-volley, avoided a looming Crows' opponent by spinning quickly before snapping an early fourth quarter major.
