In doubt throughout the week with a shoulder complaint, Luke Power is '99 percent right' to take his place in Saturday night's clash against Richmond, according to Brisbane Lions coach Leigh Matthews.
Power, who missed training on Wednesday, joined his team-mates in a light run at the Junction Oval in St Kilda on Friday afternoon under the watchful eye of a group of Richmond observers including assistant coach David King perched high in the Blackie Ironmonger Stand.
"We didn't think he was going to be OK really, but he trained yesterday afternoon, he did a fitness test and he'll run around tonight so I would have thought he's 99 percent now," Matthews said.
Matthews played down the Lions' poor recent record against Richmond - a draw and three losses from the past four clashes - and the club's poor form in Victoria in 2008 - one win from five matches.
"We beat Carlton down here earlier in the year, Melbourne beat us by a point, the Bulldogs have been beating most teams and Essendon, who are in pretty good shape, beat us the other week, so I think you can get a bit carried away with all that," he said.
"The home team is always a little bit advantaged by the home venue but it doesn’t make a monstrous difference between winning and losing."
Asked about the ongoing interest of rival clubs in star forward Jonathan Brown, Matthews said: "You could do without it, but that's the professional era."
"In the professional era it's their livelihoods, then they're going to try to negotiate their best deal and part of that is seeing what they’re worth in the market."
