Pies cop the curse of June

The month of June means only one thing. Collingwood starts to lose games of football. Every year, the curse of June has affected the Magpies and it looks to have set in now.

They looked cursed on Queen's Birthday against the Demons, particularly Anthony Rocca. He was playing like he had a month of curses on him.

The Pies are now in some strife due to injuries, particularly in their back half. But have no fear, Eddie's back. When Eddie walks through the door at the Lexus Centre, the door glows and good things happen.

What will happen with Neale Daniher now that the Dees are back in form? The Dees are going to be the most dangerous floater in the second half of the season. After changing their game plan at the start of the season, they've reverted back to a tried and true formula and it's reaping success.

It also helps to have two absolute hard nuts in Brock McLean and Nathan Jones in the middle.

Geelong and Essendon also have reasons to smile. Surely Bomber and Sheeds will have their contracts extended. The Cats are going to win the flag and the Bombers are flying.

Sheeds should be signed on a 10-year contract. Then they should book him into the nearest old folks' home to Windy Hill so he can keep coaching after that.

As for the Saints, they are back to what they do best - fighting amongst themselves. Rod Butterss has to do the right thing by his club and sort out his differences with Grant Thomas. That way, the pair can go overseas together and be out of everyone's hair.

But it won't happen. Leopards never change their spots, they just get a new tree.
