Aussies set to mark milestone with a win

the work to the returning left-hander.

Gayle's surprise decision to open the bowling with Jerome Taylor didn't really pay dividends as he finished with 1-55 from his 10 overs, so expect Fidel Edwards to partner Taylor with the new ball.

And the pair will be required to place greater pressure on the Australian top order than was the case on Tuesday, although the rally midway through the opening 50 overs as Bravo and Sammy struck would have at least been encouraging.

St George's hasn't been the happiest of hunting grounds for Australia against the West Indies, with only one victory from three starts there and the two defeats coming in three days five years ago.

Its more recent memories of the ground are far more positive though, Ponting's team having thumped Sri Lanka by seven wickets and New Zealand by 215 runs in its two outings in Grenada on the way to last year's World Cup title.

In the first of them Bracken picked up four wickets and Ponting and Symonds made scores in the 60s as they chased down Sri Lanka's 226 in 42.4 overs, while against the Kiwis Hayden (103), Ponting (66) and Watson (65) all contributed to the total of 6-348 and Brad Hogg (4-29) and Shaun Tait (3-32) did the damage with the ball.

If Tuesday's form holds it's hard to see Australia going down, especially in a match the team will be keen to dominate to mark Ponting's milestone, but the proud team from the Caribbean can never be fully discounted in the one-day arena, particularly at home.
