Aussies struggle in Japan

07/09/2008 11:14 PM

It was a disappointing weekend for the Australian golfers on the Japan Tour with Craig Parry doing the best in a tie 42nd place at the Fujisankei Classic.

Parry's even-par final round 71 left him at three-over for the tournament, some 16 strokes behind winner Toyokazu Fujishima.

Japan's Fujishima beat compatriot Hiroshi Iwata in a play-off after the latter fired a superb six-under par final round to storm into contention.

Wen-Chong Liang, Shingo Katayama and Kenichi Kuboya finished in a tie for third one stroke behind.

Paul Sheehan, Chris Campbell and Steven Conran all finished at five-over par in a tie for 51st place.
