Golden Slipper favourite Amelia's Dream has been ruled out of the $3.5 million event after pulling up lame following her victory in the Group Two Silver Slipper Stakers on Saturday.
After storming to victory in record time at Rosehill, the Gai Waterhouse-trained filly was taken to the Randwick Equine Centre for treatment on a potentially career-threatening injury.
Scans on Monday confirmed the two-year old had a fractured sesamoid putting its racing future in the balance.
Amelia's Dream recorded the fastest time by a 2-year-old over 1100m at Rosehill passing the post in 1:02.9.
Trainer Gai Waterhouse still has the favourite in the Golden Slipper event with Sebring, who has won all his three starts, rated a $5 chance.
