Damien Oliver has given Casino Prince a dream run to snatch victory in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday.
The classy Casino Prince broke through to win the $300,000 feature, edging out the more-fancied pairing of Tuesday Joy and Sniper's Bullet.
Oliver settled the four-year-old behind midfield in the early passages and stayed there until the rush to the finish.
The pair went to the front at the 200m mark and had the will to win to score a maiden Group One triumph.
"He's got there now,'' trainer Anthony Cummings said after the breakthrough victory.
"I think he'll cement himself at that level. I'm really pleased now he's got that Group One to his credit.''
Casino Prince was well supported, tightening from $10 to $7 before they jumped.
Meanwhile, Tim Martin-trained Typhoon Zed has handed young hoop Tim Clark his first Group One success with victory in The Galaxy at Randwick.
Clark bounced out of the gates on the gelding from a wide draw and soon had him in the box seat.
Leader Keen Commander and the eventual winner fought out a classic finish, with Typhoon Zed prevailing by a half-head.
A fast-finishing Fritz's Princess was a long-head away third.
