Zipping zip chance to run in Cup

A look through the history book has convinced Lloyd Williams not to run star stayer Zipping in next Saturday's BMW Caulfield Cup.
Only two horses aged seven or older have won the 2400m handicap since 1949.
"Seven-year-olds haven't got a great record (in the race)," said Nick Williams, racing manager for father Lloyd.
"History will tell you there's not much point in running them."
Zipping firmed into an $8 third favourite last Saturday following his fast-finishing third behind Littorio in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington.
The gelding was handed only 54kg for the Caulfield Cup last month but, with Pompeii Ruler unlikely to run, that will rise 1.5kg to 55.5kg.
Nick Williams said Zipping would also not run in this Saturday's G1 Yalumba Stakes (2000m).
Zipping will have his next start in either the G1 Cox Plate or the G2 Moonee Valley Cup (2500m) en route to either the Melbourne Cup or the Sandown Classic.
