Trainer Danny O'Brien has dominated the final day of the Brisbane winter carnival, taking both feature races at Eagle Farm, including the Group One Winter Stakes (1400m) with Absolut Glam.
While Absolut Glam easily took out the final Group One if the Australian racing season, O'Brien had to go to the stewards room to get Ballack over the line in the Group Two Tattersalls Cup (2200m).
Ballack ($6) had been narrowly beaten over the line by fellow Melbourne raider Fast Future ($31) but jockey Stephen Baster lodged an objection for interference in the final 100m and the protest was upheld.
A few minutes later, O'Brien was celebrating a dual success when star filly Absolut Glam ($4) dominated the big field in the Winter Stakes.
James Winks gave Absolute Glam a gun run off the pace, and produced her for a strong run down the straight to defeat Fritz' Princess (6.50) and Alverta (11.00).
O'Brien said after the race that Absolute Glam would go to the paddock and be set for both the Group One Myer Stakes and Emirates Handicap over the Flemington carnival.
