Saturday's $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield looms as one of the most open in many years, with three horses sharing favouritism.

Last-start winners Believe N Succeed and Wilander have been joined on the top line of betting by Exceedingly Good at $6 for Victoria's richest two-year-old race.

Wilander defeated stablemate Exceedingly Good in the colts Blue Diamond Prelude on February 9, but punters have rallied for the latter horse after Lee Freedman said he had more improvement in him than Wilander.

David Hayes' best hope, All American, is next at $9 while one-time boom horse Burgeis is safe at $11 after a couple of close-up runs at Caulfield.

Sugar Babe, who is a doubt to run in the race, is also $11, while Hayes' other two big hopes, unbeaten Hips Don't Lie ($13) and Blue Diamond Preview winner Reaan ($15) are also given chances.

There are still 57 horses entered for the race, with the final field to be determined on Wednesday.
