Parra scored through Inu from the ensuing set of six and, with Burt swinging in a wonderful sideline conversion, looked comfortable at 24-16.
But when Cronk sliced through some dreadful defence from Burt and Daniel Wagon to score with three minutes remaining, plenty of Eels fans were nervous.
But time eventually beat the Storm, who were beaten but not disgraced.
