England coach Tony Smith insisted his side is ready to 'do the business' as it flew out to Australia for the World Cup this week.
Smith's 24-man squad is heading to a training camp on the Gold Coast before moving to Townsville for its tournament opener against Papua New Guinea on October 25.
The coach has been meticulous in his preparations, flying out on a fact-finding mission in January and running training sessions in climate-controlled chambers to try to replicate tropical Queensland conditions.
Smiht, a former Leeds coach, told Sky Sports News ahead of the team flying out from Manchester Airport: "We feel that we have addressed as many things as we could.
"We will have a few obstacles in our way but I have got a group of players who are ready to jump those obstacles.
"There is a good feel among them, a great team spirit and we are really looking forward to the challenge.
"We are going over there to do the business and the players know that.
"I am pretty confident whichever of the 24 I put on the pitch they will do a fine job."
England also faces Australia and New Zealand in Pool One with the top three sides from the group going through to the semi-finals.
Smith insists the players are fully focused and believes they will remain professional in their approach throughout the whole tour.
He added: "Definitely no drinking on the way over and most of these players won't even drink at all when they are away.
"Their mindset is just to get ready for these games and they want to do well. So there is a lot of dedication, commitment and sacrifices that will go into being successful."
Forward Jamie Langley is one of the players looking forward to the challenge.
The Bradford second rower featured in the England side that warmed up for the trip with a crushing 74-0 victory over Wales in Doncaster on Friday.
Langley said: "I think Papua New Guinea is going to be a big step up but we are going to be ready for it.
"We have got 10 days' preparation and we are aware of the task ahead. We will just concentrate on that first game and we are under no illusions as to how tough it is going to be.
"We have done everything in our power to get the edge in these World Cup games."
