Morrison agrees to new deal

08/05/2008 6:07 PM

Bradford's Australian forward Glenn Morrison has signed a new contract which he believes will enable him to finish his career at Odsal.

The loose forward's current deal was due to expire at the end of the season but on Thursday he committed himself to the club for another 12 months at least.

Morrison, who turns 32 later this month, has scored 16 tries in 37 appearances since joining the Bulls from Parramatta in 2007 and made the Super League Dream Team last year.

"I'm happy here," he said. "It's a great club and I think Steve McNamara's on the right path, getting us going in the right direction."

"I want to be a part of that and hopefully lift some silverware before I'm done."

"When I came over here I didn't want to be on my last legs. I wanted to be playing good footy and hopefully earn that third year. I've done that and I'm delighted."

McNamara, who made Morrison vice-captain, said: "Glenn has been first class, both on and off the field, since the day he arrived and I am absolutely delighted he will be with us next year."

"He is the consummate professional and vitally important to both the team and how we play. It's great news for the Bulls."
