Dinara Safina won her third title in the last six events on Sunday, coasting to a 6-2 6-1 victory over Dominika Cibulkova at the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
Safina had absolutely no trouble continuing the best stretch of her career, as the Russian improved to 27-3 since the start of May.
Nine of those victories have come against top 10 players, including a win over former No.1 Justine Henin en route to the Berlin title.
The 22-year-old run includes her first grand slam final at the French Open, where she defeated top-seeded Maria Sharapova before falling to current number one Ana Ivanovic.
Facing the unseeded Cibulkova had to be a welcome sight for Safina, who needed less than 90 minutes to win her eighth career title.
"It's the first time in my life I have won tournaments back-to-back," said Safina, who won last week in Carson, California.
"Usually I would win a tournament and the next week I would lose in the first round."
Meanwhile, Caroline Wozniacki claimed her first WTA Tour title on Sunday with a straight-sets thrashing of Vera Dushevina at the Nordic Light Open in Stockholm.
The fourth-seeded Dane was far too strong for her Russian opponent, winning 6-0 6-2.
Earlier in the day, Wozniacki beat top seed and defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 6-4 6-1 in the semis.
Dushevina beat third seed Katarina Srebotnik 6-1 6-2.
