Patty Schnyder claimed her first WTA Tour title for three years as she defeated Tamira Paszek 6-3 6-0 in the final of the Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic in Bali.
The second-seeded Swiss had lost her previous seven finals since last winning at Cincinnati in July 2005, but showed no signs of nerves as she breezed to her 11th career title in just 67 minutes.
The result continues Schnyder's excellent recent form after she reached the quarter-finals of the US Open earlier this month.
"I'm very proud; it's a great feeling to be the tournament champion," she said.
"I had a great feeling the last three matches, where I was at a very good level and continued everything from New York, despite the fact I'm exhausted from being away from home for the last eight weeks and travelling all over the world."
"But I really like it here. I've been here many times and hope to make it back next year with the new format under the Tournament of Champions."
Paszek, who was unseeded for the tournament, had won through to Sunday's final after defeating top seed Daniela Hantuchova 6-2 5-7 6-4 on Saturday night.
But that match seemed to take its toll on the 17-year-old Austrian as she meekly succumbed in the final set.
"It was a great experience for me this week. Especially after the tough few months I had it's a nice feeling to be in that winning rhythm again," she said.
"Patty was just too tough today; she played really well."
"I think last night's match caught up with me today and I was definitely a little bit tired, but overall a good week for me and I hope to continue it the next few weeks in Asia."
