Saturday's final will be the fourth Wimbledon clash between the two Williams sisters and 16th in all professional tournaments.
Here PA Sport looks back at some notable encounters between the pair.
MATCH 11: Australian Open (final) January 25, 2003 SERENA BEATS VENUS 7-6 (7-4) 3-6 6-4
Big matches between the pair have rarely been classics, but this one bucked the disappointing trend.
Over two hours and 22 minutes, the pair slugged it out in the first grand slam final between them to go to three sets, with Venus' off-key serve proving the decisive factor.
It was the fourth consecutive all-Williams grand slam final - and Serena came out on top as she did in the other three, becoming the fifth woman in history to hold all four simultaneously.
MATCH 12: Wimbledon (final) July 5, 2003 - SERENA BEATS VENUS 4-6 6-4 6-2
Serena rebounded from defeat to Justine Henin in the semi-finals of the French Open to claim yet another grand slam title.
The match itself was nothing to shout about as Venus struggled with the effects of injury she had sustained in her semi-final against Kim Clijsters.
Venus actually powered into an early lead, though, before her injury started to take its toll and Serena took full advantage.
MATCH 13: Miami (semi-finals) March 30, 2005 VENUS BEATS SERENA 6-1 7-6 (10-8)
Venus got the better of her younger sister for the first time in three and a half years, ending a run of six straight defeats.
After Venus raced into a 5-0 lead in the first set, it looked like the match would be a one-sided encounter.
But Serena, the defending champion at the event, battled back in impressive fashion and could easily have taken the second - she had two set points in the tie-breaker but could not convert them.
MATCH 15: Bangalore (semi-finals) March 8, 2008 - SERENA BEATS VENUS 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7-4)
The most recent meeting between the two took place in India, with Serena edging out her sister in a third-set tie-breaker.
The pair entered the match tied at 7-7 from their previous 14 meetings, but Serena set about getting one over on her sister, going a set and a break ahead.
Venus fought back to claim the set and both missed match points in the third, before Serena finally prevailed.
